Grant Hunnicutt is already an entrenched member of the Triple Stamp
family, with involvement in both Ophelia and Mermaid Skeletons. On his
solo debut, Hunnicutt presents songs from one of his past projects: The
Golden Band; songs co-written by fellow Triple Stamp artist, Jonathan
Vassar; and a David Shultz penned Ophelia tune.
Hunnicutt is joined on this record by his band, The Waltz- Jessika
Blanks on fiddle, Jared Pool on Mandolin, and Vassar on accordion.
Recorded live at the historic Bellevue Theater over a weekend in July,
the album captures the haunting sound of one of Richmond’s lost music
halls and cinema palaces. Blanks, Pool, and Vassar provide a lush
musical decor while Hunnicutt grounds the sound with his honest vocals
and elegant guitar work. A beautiful album-- recorded and orchestrated
in classic fashion.
